What will happen to our human race in five or so generations if we continue down the path that we are on? Especially, what will happen to the West if we continue the same trends in the methods of living life? My best educated guess is that we will continue to value lust more and more over wholesome love. Lust weakens the bonds amongst humans that strengthen human fellowship of wholesome love. Wholesome love, is the strongest and sturdiest bond out of all the bonds on the pallet of human emotions. To appreciate wholesome love less is to weaken the emotion that links us humans together the best. Wholesome love is the love that sacrifices to help others, and builds joy upon joy.
If the individuals of the human race only appreciate other individuals for their ability to please themselves sexually and/or lustfully, then our individuals are in alliance only via vices such as lust and greed. Therefore, when an alliance in greed and an alliance of lust are not profitable for most or all individuals there is no alliance to speak of. In other words, when lust and greed are greatly weakened by a significant global adversity such as famine, war, or environmental catastrophe; we no longer care about each others’ welfare. We then become vulnerable to all sorts of escalating conflicts amongst each other.
My best guess is that sometime in the not-so-distant future we will have weakened the bonds too much in such a high percentage of the people of the West that any sort of major disaster, tragedy, or poverty will inevitably erupt in mass chaos. Starting with the poor and other greatly under-appreciated peoples, chaos will erupt. Like a domino effect through a city due to the simple need to survive, people will spread chaos to the suburbs.
